Fetching Donations
BARCS Yard Sale
- Saturday June 6th!
Perfect timing for
a little spring cleaning! BARCS is holding
a
Yard Sale to help raise funds for
the shelter on
Saturday, June 6th and we are
looking for donated items. Please drop off
your gently used items at BARCS on
Thursday June 4th and Friday
June 5th from
10:30am-6pm.
On June
6th, the Yard Sale will be held from 8am to
2:30pm. We are not
able to pick up donations and we are not
accepting computer equipment. It would
be very helpful if donated clothing could be
bagged and labeled as to whether the bag
contains men's, women's, boy's, or girl's
clothes and what size. We cannot
accept donated items on the day of the Yard
Sale.

Jean Sommers for more information.

Phoenix, A Beloved Dog
|
As many of you may know, the beloved Pit
Bull originally brought to
BARCS and
nicknamed Phoenix passed away Sunday morning. Unfortunately her kidneys could
not handle the healing process and began to
shut down. Due to kidney failure,
and the long road still ahead for recovery,
the Veterinarians that were caring for her
decided it would be best to euthanize her.
She touched the hearts of everyone who came
in contact with her and anyone who heard her
story. We would like to thank everyone who
came together to try to save this amazing
and courageous dog.

BARCS truly appreciates the overwhelming
support from the community and especially
from Dr. Bonner and her staff from
Swan Harbor Animal
Hospital,
Mainline Rescue,
and
Metropolitan Veterinary Associates in PA.
This has been a difficult and heartbreaking
tragedy. We can only hope that someone will
now come forward with
more information for a conviction. We need
to show that this is not acceptable
behavior. BARCS has a reward set up called
the
“Phoenix Reward” where we are collecting money for anyone who
can identify the young men responsible for
this cruel act of violence.
The reward at this time is at $6,000. To contribute to the reward, you can either write a check to
BARCS and write in the memo section "For
Phoenix Reward," or you can visit the
Franky Fund page on our
website and pay through Pay Pal. PLEASE
NOTE: There is a section on Pay Pay where
you can write your comments before
submitting your donation and this is where
you should type "Phoenix Reward" - in this
special field.
Baltimore Animal Control will be posting
updated flyers in the area where the
incident occurred.
This money will be rewarded to the person
who comes forward with information about
this case that leads to an arrest and
conviction.
If no leads are found within 6 months, the
money donated to BARCS by individuals will
roll over to the
BARCS Franky Fund to help other homeless injured animals.
For any questions, please
email us. Please send checks to:

A "Good" Way You can help BARCS!
|
 |
BARCS participates in
GoodSearch,
a search engine, which donates
50% of its revenue to charities.
It's a simple concept and
powered by Yahoo! so you'll get
high-quality search results.
You can use
GoodSearch
exactly as you would any other
search engine and by doing so,
BARCS
receives a penny for every
search! While
the numbers may seem small at
first, we all search the web
hundreds of times every month,
and our combined efforts can
truly add up! Just go
to
www.goodsearch.com and type
in "Baltimore Animal Rescue and
Care Shelter" in the "Who Do You
GoodSearch For" box. Once
you find our shelter name, you
can use GoodSearch every day as
your online search engine.
So,
log in today to help BARCS
raise money!
